Santos kitchens open to the daytime living area

The kitchens designed by Santos come with lots of integration and storage options, designed to ensure that everything is always clean and tidy and out of sight. This aspect is particularly relevant in kitchens open to other rooms in the house, as shown by the following projects featured in publications specialising in architecture and interior design.

The kitchen, living room and dining room of this renovated flat comprise a bright, spacious, open-plan area that fosters interaction among users. The kitchen, located on one end of the daytime living area, is demarcated by sliding glass doors, making it possible to close it off from the adjoining areas without losing the visual connection. Its furniture, a Silk Black FINE design by Santos, is laid out around a centre island that – aside from providing a large work surface – comes with three base storage units on the inner face. The worktop, which extends towards the rear side of the island, serves as a counter on which to enjoy any meal.
The washing-up, preparation, cooking and refrigeration areas of this kitchen in black and wood are laid out in a composition that’s parallel to the island. The row includes tall larder units, oven units, a fridge unit, a hob unit, drawer units, a sink unit with recycling bins and an integrated dishwasher. The intermediate area, decorated with a panel in an Earth Walnut wood finish, has been kitted out with three wall storage units – one of which houses the canopy hood.
A stand-alone composition, located perpendicular to the island, serves as a breakfast area. It features a tall larder unit on the side, and a drawer unit with work surface and LED lighting profile with sockets in front, together with modular shelving in an Earth Walnut finish.
The room attached to the kitchen has been designed as a laundry area and larder. The furniture, a Cashmere FINE design by Santos, is laid out in an L shape along two partition walls, and includes three larder units with interior drawers, a tall washer and dryer unit, a utility unit for cleaning products, wall storage units with inner shelves and a sink unit with worktop and a laundry sink.

The kitchen, dining room and living room all share a large, open area on the first floor of this renovated house. The kitchen – kitted out in a Mink Grey FINE design by Santos, with its plain fronts without handles – sits at the centre of the floor, visually separated from the dining room by a half partition wall. The furniture of this grey kitchen has been laid out mainly in a row, with a composition that features a base unit with double drawers, a roller shutter unit, a tall oven unit, two fridge units and six wall units with shelves. It also comes with a washing-up area, which features an integrated dishwasher and sink unit with recycling bins.
The lower area of the kitchen extends perpendicular to the main line, creating a peninsula that holds the preparation and cooking areas – and to which the dining area is attached. The peninsula has a hob unit and two drawer units on its inner face, while its outer face – with the aid of stools – serves as a counter for breakfast and quick meals.

The kitchen of this detached single-family property, found in the middle of the daytime living area, has been designed as the hub of the home. The furniture features the Pearl White FINE design by Santos, with an island holding the preparation, washing-up and cooking areas. The island comes with an integrated dishwasher, drawer units, hob unit, sink unit and storage units with shelves.
The furnishings of this white kitchen are rounded off with a row of furniture laid out parallel to the island that includes a retractable unit with customised interiors in a Kairos Oak wood finish in the middle. This unit’s fronts can be temporarily hidden away along its sides, making it easy to see what’s inside and providing easy access. Inside, the unit has shelves with rear LED lighting, drawers, oven and an auxiliary work area with a worktop, lighting profile and sockets. The composition is rounded off with tall units located at the ends: on one side, two fridge units comprise the refrigeration area, and on the other, two storage units with interior shelves and drawers make it easy to store supplies.
