Santos systems to illuminate kitchens inside and out

Light is a crucial factor to work comfortably and enjoy in the kitchen. Santos offers multiple integrated and discreet options, which are designed to illuminate worktops and cabinet interiors. All of them are based on LED systems, entailing less power consumption and lasting much longer. In addition, there are two types available: neutral white, which is recommended for work areas, or warm white, which is more advisable for dining rooms and living areas.
Exclusive systems by Santos to illuminate work areas
Santos has designed and developed two exclusive lighting profiles that can be used together to provide auxiliary lighting, facilitating tasks and improving the visual appearance of the whole:
Integrated LED lighting profile
It is an aluminium profile built into the bottom of the wall units. It spans the width of the cabinets, providing indirect, functional, continuous and uniform lighting over the worktop. It comes with a diffuser profile that—in contrast to other solutions—can be retracted a few millimetres into the unit, so the light source will never be visible to users. This prevents the light from falling directly into the eyes, avoiding any uncomfortable dazzle.
LED lighting bar with slit for accessories
This profile is installed under the wall units, adapting to their width, and provides indirect decorative lighting over the worktop. It can include switches and power sockets to make it easier to connect and use small kitchen appliances. It also comes with a slit to fit the intermediate area of the kitchen with practical accessories. This way, utensils such as roll holders, knife racks, spice racks or book or tablet holders are always within view and within reach. What’s more, this item can be personalised with decorative panels, in order to give the kitchen greater uniformity of colour.

Santos has also created two exclusive lighting profiles to illuminate the interior of wall, tall and glass units. They improve the appearance of interiors, make it easier to search through their contents, and in the case of glass units, they also serve as ambient lighting:
Interior LED lighting profile
It is a lacquered aluminium profile that is placed on top of wall and tall units. It provides indirect decorative lighting, creating a light curtain with the effect of a cascade at the back of the entire cabinet. The glass shelves enhance the effect, by facilitating the diffusion of light throughout the interior.

Lighting with LED spotlights
Aside from the brand’s exclusive lighting profiles, Santos offers the possibility of illuminating the kitchen with LED spotlights. They can be installed under the wall units, as auxiliary lighting for the work area, as well as in their interior. In the latter case, to create a more aesthetically pleasing effect, it is advisable to choose glass shelves, which enhance the diffusion of light throughout the interior of the cabinet.
