Santos Kitchen in green and wood integrated into the daytime living area of a renovated duplex apartment

The renovation of this new-build duplex apartment made it possible to group the public areas of the house into one wing and the private areas into the other, organising the spaces in a practical and consistent manner that makes the most of the floor.

For the interior design, materials, finishes and design pieces were carefully chosen, as well as a warm colour scheme based on natural shades accentuated by green notes. Rooms with a distinctive personality – defined by their harmonious and serene character – are the outcome.
The home’s entrance leads directly to the daytime living area – a large, open-plan and bright space shared by the lounge, diner and kitchen in green and wood with glazed enclosure.
Oak wood panelling runs all throughout, tying the whole project together, and around which the spaces have been laid out. This element has also made it possible to conceal the doors to the rooms and fit large wardrobes.
The kitchen seamlessly blends into the daytime living area, demarcated by a lacquered iron and glass enclosure that lets users close it off from the adjoining spaces whenever they wish.
The furniture, laid out in an L, combines two Santos designs: the LISSE model finished in Sage Green Silk Matt, used in the base and tall units, and the FINE model finished in Rustic Oak wood, found in the wall units.
The longer leg starts off with the preparation, washing-up and cooking areas that come with a sink unit with recycling bins in the bottom double drawer, a built-in dishwasher, and a hob unit with full-extension, large-capacity double drawers in the lower area of the kitchen.
The upper area features three units, one of them intended to house the kitchen hood. Its folding door system makes it possible for one door to fold against the other until it rests at the top of the unit, leaving everything inside accessible and visible. At the bottom, these units come with an LED lighting profile that runs all along its entire width and provides indirect lighting onto the worktop.
Under the wall units is an LED lighting profile finished in Rustic Oak wood, with sockets to make it easy to use small appliances. This profile also comes with a slit to fit the intermediate area of the kitchen with practical accessories.
The kitchen furnishings were rounded off with a tall oven unit with additional storage space, a tall utility unit to keep cleaning utensils and, in the shorter leg, two tall units more that house the fridge and freezer.
The kitchen also has a Santos counter in Natural Oak wood, which is perfect for comfortably enjoying any meal without having to go to the diner.
The duplex apartment’s private zone comes with two bedrooms, a dressing room and two bathrooms – one of which has the laundry.
The primary bedroom has been designed as a relaxing oasis that inspires calm and tranquillity, while the guest bedroom has been furnished with a folding bed, a wardrobe and a work area with desk.
In contrast, the dressing room has been laid out along two sides with a bespoke wardrobe featuring black aluminium and smoked glass doors, which make the room feel much bigger.
