Homes with wood Santos kitchens, with island and open to the daytime living area

This article brings together three home projects with wood Santos kitchens, with island and open to the daytime living area, featured by publications specialising in architecture, décor and interior design.

The kitchen, diner and lounge all share a single space in this renovated flat. The kitchen is found on one end of the daytime living area, which is separated by a glazed enclosure that lets users open and close it off whenever they wish.

The kitchen furniture, a FINE design by Santos, is laid out around a centre island that holds the preparation and cooking areas, with two drawer units and a hob unit. Its outer face has been used for a Santos worktop-mounted bar finished in Olive Ash wood.

The rest of the kitchen furniture is parallel to the island, creating a run with fronts finished in natural Olive Ash veneered wood. The ends of the composition have four tall units that integrate many appliances and spaces to store utensils and provisions.

The washing-up area is found in the middle, and it features a built-in dishwasher and a sink unit with recycling bins. The area is rounded off with three side-opening glass door units with black aluminium frame, smoked glass fronts and customised interiors finished in Olive Ash wood.

The kitchen in this house, a new-build detached house, has been fitted out with a FINE design by Santos combining fronts in American Walnut veneered wood and others in Silk Pearl White.

The room is laid out around a centre island, which holds the preparation and cooking areas, plus numerous storage options on both sides. The worktop, with an overhang on one of its ends, thus gives rise to a counter to have breakfast or snacks.

The rest of the kitchen furniture has been laid out in an L. Thus, perpendicular to the island is the washing-up area, which has drawer units, a sink unit with recycling bins and an integrated dishwasher.

Parallel to the island, there’s a row of tall units with ovens, a fridge freezer, a utility unit, storage units and a retractable unit to store tableware and food.

The latter’s fronts can be temporarily hidden away along its sides, making it easy to see what’s inside and providing easy access. Inside, the cabinet has an additional work area with worktop, lighting profile and plug – perfect for using small kitchen appliances without having to move them.

Refurbished traditional home with a design by Santos Kitchens.

This traditional stone house was refurbished and extended with a parallel structure made of reinforced concrete featuring the diner and an open-plan kitchen with island.

The kitchen furniture, a FINE design by Santos, combines the Light Elm and Mink Grey wood finishes. The preparation and cooking areas are found in a centre island fitted out with two drawer units featuring full-extension, large-capacity double drawers.

The rest of the kitchen furniture is laid out in an L along two partition walls, with two compositions of floor-to-ceiling tall units featuring fronts in a Light Elm wood finish on each end. Between the two blocks of tall units is the washing-up area, located in front of a large window to make the most of the natural light.

There are two tall units integrating the fridge and freezer as well as a tall unit with pocket doors and interiors customised in a Light Elm wood finish. Parallel to the island, there’s a tall larder unit with adjustable shelves and another one with pocket doors and interior featuring a breakfast area and a drawer unit.
