Traç Cuines celebrates 25 years as a Santos distributor and presents its new showroom

Traç Cuines, an exclusive Santos distributor in Barcelona, commemorated its 25-year-old relationship with the brand by presenting a completely renovated showroom.
After a comprehensive renovation, the studio now boasts a new 400-square-metre showroom which, aside from kitchen cabinets, has kitchen appliances and worktops from top brands. The kitchen showroom features four entire kitchens with the new designs, finishes and storage solutions launched by Santos in its latest collection. It also has a technical area for kitchen cabinets that serves as a catalogue, letting visitors visualise the multiple modular kitchen options available from the brand.
Traç Cuines, a family business with a great future
Traç Cuines can trace its beginnings back to 1982, when Josep Mª Soler, a self-taught man fascinated by the world of construction, opened a small kitchen cabinet shop in the Sants neighbourhood (Barcelona). His wife, Amelia Montserrat, embarked on this adventure with him right from the start, taking charge of carefully decorating the kitchens on display in the showroom. In 1995, coinciding with the move to its current location, the studio became an exclusive distributor for the Santos brand in uptown Barcelona.
Traç Cuines was founded as a family business, and its future is assured with the addition to the company of the founders’ two children, Jordi and Mariona Soler. The former began working in the business casually, working at the showroom while finishing his university studies. In 2008, he joined the company for good, taking over the reins of the sales and customer service departments. His sister, a graphic designer by trade, joined the team a little later, after a professional career in Madrid. At present, she heads the technical department and is charge of the social media communications strategy. Both agree that their father sets a wonderful example with his capacity for hard work, professionalism and honesty—values that are closely linked to the studio’s way of working.
Evolving while staying true to the original philosophy
Since its beginnings, Traç Cuines has not stopped evolving to keep up with the times. Its workforce has grown with the addition of administrative officers, interior designers and fitters in order to control the entire process and offer customers more personalised and satisfactory experience. Work processes have also changed, with hand-drawn sketches making way for the latest technology in project management, development and presentation.
However, one thing has definitely remained unchanged over the years: its philosophy. The studio has always been mindful of trends, developing its own style which is reflected in both modern and contemporary designs, as well as in others with a more classic look. And, most importantly, it has always taken great pains to consider the durability and long-term wearability of materials and finishes. This is because today, just like the first day, at Traç Cuines, they are fully cognizant of the responsibility involved in turning their customers’ dreams into reality. Therefore, the ultimate goal will continue to be ensuring that the kitchen responds to the changing needs of users throughout its lifetime.
