A white kitchen with a glass enclosure

Lacquered MINOS Silk Matt White

This project, carried out in a flat in Barcelona, is proof of the capacity that white kitchens designed by Santos have for creating spaces that are balanced and full of light in which users can enjoy a sense of amplitude and cleanliness.

The kitchen is situated between the laundry area and the living-dining room, separated by transparent glass wall panels that, apart from avoiding a visual boundary between the different spaces, make it possible for the whole area to receive natural light. The model MINOS Silk matt white from Santos was chosen for the furniture; a minimalist design that fits in with the rooms’ architecture, making the most of its luminosity and favouring the continuity between rooms.

A parallel layout was chosen for the kitchen cabinets in order to avoid visual obstacles and to let in the natural light. The preparation, cooking and washing up areas are situated on one of the walls and on the opposite wall is a group of tall units that house, in a compact and organised manner, various electrical appliances and storage units. The centrepiece of the kitchen is an island that is made up of a wine cooler and an oak wood table, both in wenge colour, which serves as a breakfast bar and adds a warm counterpoint to the rest of the ensemble.
