Top tips from Santos for a kitchen that’s «a perfect 10»

12 / 06 / 2019

In its latest guide to refurbishing, Cocinas y Baños magazine has brought together the best tips from Santos for a kitchen that’s «a perfect 10», and these can be summarised as two basic concepts: optimising the space and adapting to the user. The magazine illustrates the article with one of the brand’s new models, a minimalist design with stylish shapes and smooth cabinet fronts and which forms part of the Santos 2019 collection.

In this project, the kitchen, living room and dining room share an open-plan space, connected to the outside by large windows. A glazed sliding door makes it possible to separate the rooms when necessary, without losing brightness or the visual connection. The units in the space —a Silk Black LAH LINE design by Santos— are organised in parallel, with base units and top units on one side, and tall units on the other. This layout means everything is within easy reach when cooking and keeps a large area in the centre free, making moving around and working in the kitchen easy.

Drawers and accessories: all organised and accessible

The base units, structured in three levels of drawers, make organising and finding the contents easier. The top drawer, made of olive ash wood, holds the utensils that are most frequently used in the kitchen. As it doesn’t have duplicated sides and uses the base as the support for the accessories, it offers more capacity and weighs less. In addition, the bins make it possible to classify food, tableware and large items such as pots and frying pans.

The interior accessories complement the drawers, adding order and functionality. The pull-outs make cleaning the drawers easier, whilst others, such as the knife rack or spice rack are interchangeable and can be chosen to suit the users’ preferences.

Integration and optimisation: more kitchen in less space

The row of tall units includes many kitchen appliances and storage solutions in a discreet, compact and ordered space. Three tiers of completely removable, push-to-open and soft-close interior drawers, provide the perfect solution for the hard-to-access area under the oven.

The sink unit brings together recycling bins and an interior drawer for storing cleaning utensils in a reduced space. The structure, made of laminated marine board, offers resistance to moisture, abrasion and wear.

Light: an essential ingredient in the kitchen

The kitchen has two LED light sources for the work area, making tasks easy and creating additional light. The first, built into the base of the tall units, offers light that is continuous, uniform and doesn’t dazzle. The second is incorporated into an exclusive Santos profile and includes electrical sockets and channel for accessories such as a kitchen paper roll holder, shelves for containers and so on.
