Santos kitchens: functional in large and small spaces

—25 / 04 / 2014—

Over the last month, various specialist media have covered projects in which Santos’ kitchen furniture has helped create comfortable and functional work spaces no matter what the size of the room.

Interiores presented a project that stands out due to its luminosity, accessories and choice of materials. The kitchen, fitted with Santos’ MINOS-E model in seff white and anthracite grey, organises itself around a large central island that, apart from housing the washing and cooking areas, offers a lot of storage space, a spacious worktop and a bar for informal meals. The furniture fits in with the architectonic style of the house, contemporary and warm, and the distribution with an island favours the communication between the different work areas, defining a functional, comfortable and inviting atmosphere, perfect for cooking and enjoying.

20 Casas featured a complete make-over of a 92m2 flat, in which a house that was practically in ruins was reconstructed, preserving its memory and carrying out small modifications to make significant improvements. The kitchen, equipped with Santos furniture in plywood covered in white melamine, set the tone of the design of the rest of the furniture, transferring the idea to the wall units in the dining room and the wardrobes in the bedroom in order to achieve a balanced combination.

Interiores Minimalistas chose reduced spaces, and published the results of a renovation in which space was found for, in just 12m2, a kitchen-diner laid out in three parallel areas: tall units, peninsula and dining room. The tall unit area is on one of the walls and, apart from providing storage space and integrating various electrical appliances, avoids the presence of obstacles in the rest of the room, favouring the entrance of natural light. This distribution, together with the pure lines of the pearl white INTRA-L model from Santos, has allowed the room to be extensively equipped without being overloaded.

Cocinas y Baños and Decoesfera also chose small spaces, showing solutions that allow us to make the most of the kitchen’s capacity. Cocinas y Baños mentioned Santos’ MINOS model, highlighting the sink unit with a lower drawer that is totally isolated and independent, free from humidity and odours, in which you can store foodstuffs. Decoesfera, on the other hand, presented an interesting solution for increasing the storage space of a small kitchen. The tall unit area is arranged in a tiered manner that, apart from providing capacity and being useful, makes it possible to lighten the wall area above the hob and sink, making the most of the natural light that enters the room.
