Ledesma Diseño: more than 30 years designing Santos kitchens

Ledesma Diseño, the Santos kitchen showroom in Portugalete (Vizcaya), has got 2021 underway with a new manager and exciting future prospects.
Kitchen specialists since 1990
The origins of this showroom date back to 1980, when Juan Castillo Ledesma, a professional from the world of carpentry, decided to open a home furniture store alongside his brother and a third partner. A decade later they were attracted by kitchen furniture, which was gaining a lot of momentum on the market. That was when they discovered the Santos brand, they liked its approach and decided to focus their activity on fitting out kitchens. So, they set up their first kitchen showroom in Baracaldo and, shortly afterwards, when they planned to expand to a second premises, the company split. However, Juan continued with his idea and founded Ledesma Diseño in Portugalete.
Looking back, Juan remembers those first years in the world of kitchens as difficult but beautiful. For him, it was a new sector that was open, difficult and dynamic, with different clients and specific needs. He started alone, with the occasional assistance of a decorator, in a 30 square metre store. The first display was very small but attractive, and was very well received. The success of his proposals, which he has always sought to put his own hallmark on, encouraged him to move Ledesma Diseño to new premises. Subsequently, another adjoining premises was annexed to them, forming a 150 square metre showroom which is currently displaying a broad representation of the latest Santos furniture products and finishes.
Ledesma Diseño offers design and installation services for kitchens, bathrooms and complete properties, offering advice at every stage to attain an optimal and fully personalised result. In the case of complete renovations, it organises and coordinates the different work teams involved in the process, to offer the client peace of mind. For Juan Castillo, the greatest recognition of the studio´s work is the fact that many clients recommend its services to family members and their nearest and dearest, and even return to the store years later to turn a new project into a reality.
An exciting new stage
The team at Ledesma Diseño has gradually grown alongside the studio itself, in order to tackle all its projects with guaranteed success. Today, its team of staff is formed by three decorators, two fitters, an administrator and a construction and facilities coordinator. They are joined by Carla Castillo, decorator and, since 1 January 2021, the brand-new manager.
Juan and Elvira, his wife, have decided to stand aside in order for their daughter to take over the showroom. Carla has 15 years of experience in the showroom and, over recent years, she was responsible for managing internal organisation matters. In fact, as her father acknowledges, she is the one who has revolutionised the establishment, updating it in order to face the future. With her knowledge and willingness, the continuity of a business with deep family roots is guaranteed.
