Santos Kitchens: designs that work in any space
14 / 11 / 2017 —
Of the many articles that specialist media in decoration and interior design have devoted to kitchens fitted with cabinets designed by Santos, two in particular show their capacity to adapt to any space or environment, whether public or private.
The aim of the first project, featured in the magazine Casa Viva and the blog Interiores Minimalistas, was to adapt a flat to the preferences and needs of its owners by using an open-plan layout. It is becoming more and more common for a home’s living and dining areas to be laid out around the kitchen, in such a way that this room, which used to be separate and intended as a workspace, has now become the nexus of family interaction.
The renovation created a spacious and multifunctional central area that can accommodate different environments. The island kitchen, fitted with the Snow White LINE-L design by Santos, flows into the same space as the service area and living room, reducing visual barriers to foster communication and interaction among the inhabitants.
The integration solutions provided by Santos cabinets make it possible to have ‘a place for everything and everything in its place’, a fundamental aspect of open-plan kitchens. In addition, the plain fronts, with handles that are as discreet as possible, seamlessly blend into the home’s architecture and interior design.
The second project, covered by the magazines Proyecto Contract and Cocinas y Baños, shows that the kitchens designed by Santos also adapt well to public spaces. In this case, it is the showroom for a meat products company, located in an industrial warehouse. The meticulous interior design creates a very pleasant atmosphere, which makes visitors feel right at home while enjoying a live cooking session.
The kitchen, fitted with the Horizontal Walnut LINE-E design by Santos, has been specially designed for demanding cooking demo sessions, with a large work surface and multiple solutions to make the storage and organisation of supplies and utensils a snap.
The spotlight is on a large, multifunctional island that, aside from bringing together the preparation, cooking and washing-up areas, comes with an extended bar on its outer side. This element comes in handy to observe what the chef is doing up close or to sample the dishes that are being prepared.
