Santos: beautiful, harmonious and practical kitchens

Santos designs and manufactures kitchen cabinets that help to create more beautiful, harmonious and practical rooms, making the most of all available space. This is shown by several projects featured in publications specialising in decor and interior design.

Casa Viva devotes an article each to two kitchens fitted with Santos cabinets. The first has been conceptualised as a bright and uncluttered area in which the tall units include electrical appliances and the island has a breakfast counter. The second is the heart of the home with the hallways, dining room and living room around it, creating a unique and open space with no visual barriers. To fit it out, the MINOS-L design by Santos with a Snow White finish was chosen, in order to enhance natural light entering the room. The island helps to visually define and delineate the work area, as well as serves as a link to other areas.

In the kitchen covered by the magazine Interiores, the units are made up of the Fog Grey INTRA and SEDA models by Santos—two minimalist designs defined by their clean, straight lines. The cabinets are laid out in a U shape, with the food preparation and cooking areas located at the sides and the washing-up area at the centre, located under a window to make the most of the entry of natural light. This layout connects all work areas without depriving them of their own independence, minimising trips and facilitating organisation of tasks.

Cocinas y Baños also highlights the harmony of shades in the kitchen. In this case, the predominance of white in the cabinets with the White Seff ARIANE 2 design by Santos, walls, ceilings, mouldings and doors is offset by the warmth provided by the beams, counters and wall units. The units are laid out in an L shape, with two rows of base units for the cooking, preparation and washing-up areas. This layout makes the most of the room’s 11 m2, giving rise to a spacious, uncluttered area that fosters freedom of movement.

The first impression that you get from the kitchen featured by the blogs Cocinas con estilo, Decoesfera and Marzua is that nothing is superfluous. In it, the plain, uncluttered fronts of the Santos cabinets with a White Seff finish play an important role, with the handles as discreet as possible so as not to interfere with the continuity of the units. The absence of visual barriers fosters interaction among users, and also makes it possible for natural light to reach the farthest corners of a floor made up of the kitchen, living room and dining room. The U-shaped layout—aside from providing a peninsula that can be used as an additional work surface or side table—enables units to facilitate tasks and to avoid unnecessary trips to and fro.

Blog y Arquitectura devotes an entry to a renovation project that creates spacious areas full of natural light, free from obstacles—as advocated by current trends in interior design. The kitchen and service area share a bright and spacious area, in which the contrast between materials delineates both areas. The wood flooring—with its warmth—balances out the coldness of the steel worktop. This element, combined with the white colour of the cabinets with the MINOS-L design by Santos, gives off a greater sense of cleanliness and hygiene. The kitchen is laid out in an L shape, complete with a central island where the cooktop and a practical sink are found. This layout makes it possible to create the work triangle that should be found in all kitchens.
