Santos was present at Eurocucina for the fourth consecutive year and showed its growing commitment to the principles of ecodesign; influential parameters on which an innovative and coherent proposal that is more respectful to the environment can be based, rather than just superficial labels.

In accordance with this philosophy, Santos opted for glass fronts, a recycled and recyclable material. Solid doors were replaced by hollow core doors, which are strong but do not require the use of so much raw material.  Furthermore, only water based varnishes were used on the woods.

It is worth highlighting the prominence given to woods and white coloured fronts, both perfectly integrated into the structure of the stand and the two kitchens on display. This mixture contributed to creating a harmonious and balanced space, capable of revealing the simple and natural attractiveness of a combination that is, without a doubt, destined to set a trend in the coming years.

The beauty of this partnership could be seen, above all, in the living kitchen, where Darío Colombo prepared a menu, on a daily basis, specially created for the occasion by Fabio Barbaglini and which many visitors were able to savour and enjoy. The finishes used for the living kitchen were maple for the two islands, natural wood for the interiors and matt white lacquer for the tall units, forming a serene and pleasant composition.

In the second kitchen Santos’ ability to surprise with its attention to details was made evident.  In this project, made entirely of white glass, a simple wooden bar was used, taking advantage of its natural tone, to add a touch of colour to the whole composition.

The innovations presented by Santos at Eurocucina 2010 are a true reflection of its philosophy. The constant search for greater functionality and ergonomics has resulted in great international success with both customers and kitchen furniture dealers.

There was great interest in the new motorised system where, with just the push of a button, the kitchen wall units close automatically, with no need for any effort from the user. This solution is an addition to the assisted opening system (SAA) for drawers, one of the most valued proposals by visitors to the Santos Eurocucina 2010 stand.
